South Ark Daily Picks finished its October 7 college football card with two winning selections: Kennesaw State +3 and New Mexico State at FIU Under 46.5. The saved finals explain both results: Jacksonville State beat Kennesaw State 27–26, while FIU beat New Mexico State 22–3.
Those are two different ways for a model pick to succeed. Kennesaw did not need to win outright; it needed to stay inside the spread. The FIU game did not require us to choose a winning team; it needed to finish below the total.
Kennesaw State +3: a one-point loss, a winning spread pick
The original SE v1.0 forecast put Kennesaw State at 23.8 points and Jacksonville State at 23.6. That near-even projection was the reason to take three points with the home team. The actual 27–26 result went to Jacksonville State, but Kennesaw's one-point defeat covered +3 by two points.
This is why a projected winner and a spread selection must remain distinct. A bettor holding Kennesaw +3 could win even when Jacksonville State won the game. The forecast did not have to predict the exact final score to identify the relevant market question.
The result is preserved as a win in our tracked record. Its original publication timestamp was 6:02:02 p.m. Central, two minutes after scheduled kickoff. That timing annotation remains visible; the strictly pregame record treats it separately. We have not changed the timestamp to make the history look cleaner.
FIU–New Mexico State Under 46.5: 25 combined points
The original forecast was FIU 24.0, New Mexico State 19.7: a 43.7-point total, 2.8 below the published 46.5 line. The final was FIU 22, New Mexico State 3. Their 25 combined points finished 21.5 below the betting total.
The under's original case was about a lower combined score, rather than FIU covering a spread. FIU finished close to its projected scoring output; New Mexico State finished far below its forecast. The result supports the grading of this selection, but it does not establish that the model precisely anticipated how the scoring would unfold.
What a 2–0 start tells us
Both wins count in the displayed tracked betting record. Two outcomes are still a small sample. They do not establish a long-run win rate, validate a cover-probability estimate, or guarantee the next card. The saved FIU under selection has no verified wager price, so this recap does not invent a combined profit or ROI.
These wins belong to the original SE v1.0 card. Tonight's college football selections use SE v3.0. Keeping those versions separate lets readers evaluate what was actually published rather than replacing old forecasts with newer ones.
